#Minimize skype to tray windows#

Again, I already implemented exactly that behavior once and removed it again. But, we should also have an option which once enabled minimizes to tray when clicking the main window's close button.ДЄdding an option for it is no solution (it would probably have been an option anyway.). By default, when you click on 'Close' button you do close the application. A simple tray icon has no indication of the currently active/running accounts/streams, there's no way decide what windows/accounts to show when clicking the tray icon, it doesn't work on wayland, it's deprecated anyway. And to a certain degree, I do agree how it can be considered wrong, that once you click on 'Close' button instead of closing your app is minimized to tray. However, since it looks like this model will not be followed. I didn't say it should never be implemented, but the current technical implementation possibilities are just not what I was hoping for. It's not losing anything, it's just not gaining any functionality.

Also, Corebird is losing on functionality because of this. I read the whole thread but I do not agree that this can't/shouldn't be implemented. Tl dr That's definitely something I want, but I currently don't have the resources/technology to implement it properly.

However, it's really convenient to not have that many windows open.ДЇor Gnome, I was hoping for someone to write a shell extension( cough), but I have no concrete plans to export any information to make that possible - also, there's this site now. From a user perspective it's just very weird that closing the window does not really close the window. I actually had that implemented at some point but removed it 8 months ago.
